Stephen Gugu
Stephen was previously head of research and analysis at Stanbic Investments Management Services (East Africa). While at Stanbic he was tasked with evaluating equity, fixed income and private equity investments for Stanbic’s over USD1bln funds under management. His experience includes deal sourcing, investment analysis and valuation. Among his achievements while at SIMS include setting up a research department, making some good recommendations that ended up giving alpha to client investments and preparing several industry research pieces which were subject of media briefings in Kenya receiving both local and international media attention.
He is a graduate of the Vlerick Management School (2011) and is a Kofi Annan Fellow (KAF) having received a scholarship from the Kofi Annan Foundation. After coming back from his MBA at Vlerick he has since together with a Belgian and Ugandan partner put up venture capital, InVhestia Africa Limited (www.invhestia.com) firm looking to invest in Energy projects in East Africa with a special emphasis on the renewable sources.
He also acts as a mentor/coach to entrepreneurs at the M:Lab Incubation centre where offers them guidance and advice on how to better approach the markets and investors and also does trainings on entrepreneurship related topics at the centre.

Angela Gachui
Ms. Gachui is a bilingual Strategy and Talent Management Consultant with 7 years work experience in East Africa and North America. She worked with Mars Canada in their HR Department and moved on to join the Performance Improvement Group at PricewaterhouseCoopers (K), where she was involved in numerous remuneration surveys, recruitment assignments, HR Compliance Audits and Skill Needs Assessments and policy drafts. Angela was the Chief Talent Officer at Seven Seas Technologies where she was responsible for the design and phase 1 roll-out of the Talent Management Framework, over the last 2 years. Her role involved developing strategies and policies for the identification, retention and development of talent within the company. She was also responsible for the institutionalization of the human resources function in the company in line with best practices.
Her experience cuts across geographies and industries; from manufacturing (FMCG) to high-end technology solution providers. Her passions extend past Business Strategy and Talent Management and into the realm of Sustainability and Governance. She is the Founder of Triple Bottom Line Associates, a consulting firm that provides practical and responsive advisory services to organizations that are committed to ‘triple bottom line impact’ (Drive Profit, Impact People and Consider the Planet).

Modesta Lillian Mahiga
Modesta is in the forefront of private sector interventions to build capacity to transform Tanzania into an African economic powerhouse. As Founder and Group Managing Director of Professional Approach Group (Professional Approach Development, Professional Approach Centre and Maanisha Foundation) Modesta has integrated the Group’s flagship “mindset change for national transformation” model into all client recruitment, training, labour relations and business process outsourcing services to render the “Professional Approach” brand synonymous with “change management and behavioural transformation” in Tanzania. Maanisha Foundation print and electronic “media edutainment” programs use national media to empower Tanzania youth to “positively change the way they think, perform and present themselves for business success”. Awarded Tanzania Woman of Achievement of the Year, 2011, in the category of Young Achiever, Modesta is also a respected writer and motivational speaker, energising the youth, entrepreneurs and employees. As a young entrepreneur-mentor Modesta tirelessly supports individuals, organisations, local and international think tanks to encourage entrepreneurship amongst African youth and promote responsible business policies, practices and good governance in Africa. Modesta sits on the Board of The Foundation for Civil Society, Executive Committee of Tanzania Professionals Network and is the Tanzania Coordinator of the Young African Responsible Business Trust

Harry Hare
Harry been part of the African ICT industry actively participating in both the public and private sectors as a researcher, writer, consultant, project manager and coordinator, for the last 2 decades. He has founded, as well as, been involved with notable contributions in ICT forums, taskforces, working groups around East Africa. Some of the notable initiatives include the ICT in Health in East Africa, ICT for Education Research in African, Formation of the African ICT Association (AFICTA) Kenya e-Legislation Project and East Africa Community eGovernment Working Group. In 2005, he founded, African eDevelopment Resource Center, (AeRC) where he continued to manage and consult as well as lead an ICT team of visionaries who make things happen and use cutting-edge technology to improve and better the lives of people in the Kenya and other African communities. His consulting work spans various countries, industries and disciplines, and focuses on the strategic usage of information technology, knowledge management, information systems, e-business, e-health, e-Government, e-commerce, paradigm and technology forecasting, and the Internet. He is also the founder, publisher and Editorial Director of CIO East Africa, an IT Media company running a monthly magazine, an information portal and series of IT briefings targeted to C-Level IT professionals. For the last four years he has been publishing CIO East Africa, high quality magazine every month and circulated to more than 8000 senior professionals in the East African IT and Telecoms sector.


Muchiri Nyaga
Muchiri Nyaggah is the Principal Partner at Semacraft Consulting Partners, a multi-disciplinary firm that focuses on helping its clients identify new opportunity spaces and grow defensible market share in existing ones within emerging markets. He worked for the Kenyan gourmet coffee chain Nairobi Java House as its first Information Technology manager helping bring the business from manual processes to advanced business intelligence. He focuses on how organizations and governments in emerging markets can use technology to meet their customers’ needs. In his consulting work, he has provided solutions for businesses in aviation, aviation support, hospitality, healthcare, business consulting and civil society and provided analysis on social customer relationship management systems. In 2010, he was invited to participate in the first Open Innovation Africa Summit held in Kenya. His participation resulted in the formation of a team to develop a platform that will gather analytics on learning outcomes among children through mobile games in Africa. He has facilitated workshops for mobile developers in Kenya on applying a user-centered approach in mobile applications development and is working to extend software developer communities into rural areas. He is also currently working on projects related to the improvement of citizen participation in governance and the democratic process, improving access to antenatal care and new platforms for education analytics through mobile gaming in Africa.
Muchiri is currently writing a business handbook on user centered design for mobile application developers in Africa due in early 2012.


Dr George Njenga
Dr. George N. Njenga is the former and founding Dean of Strathmore Business School. He is also a senior lecturer at Strathmore University in Ethics and Leadership. He has a PhD (honours) in Political Philosophy from the University of Navarra, Spain. He has a Masters in Governance and Culture of Institutions from the same University. Dr. Njenga also has a Masters in Business Administration and is a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya. He was the Director of the Strathmore school of accountancy in 2002-2005. Whilst in that position he set up successful Certified Financial Analyst (CFA) and Certified Information Systems Audit Program (CISA) formal training programmes for the first time in Kenya. He helped set up the first successful School of Finance and Banking in Kigali, Rwanda. He worked as a senior auditor at Ernst and Young Kenya between 1989 and 1992. He was also the Strathmore College Financial Manager for four years, 1992-1996. Since 1992 he has held other positions in Strathmore University. Specifically, Administrator, Human Resource Director and Director of the School of Accountancy. He has served as a trustee for the Universities Provident Fund Scheme and has been a member of the University Managment Board and Academic Council. He is a founding board member of the Association of African Business Schools and an Internatiaonal advisory board member of Global Business Schools Network. He is a Member of the Board of Directors of Pacis Insurance Company.

Keneth Ehouzou

Keneth Steve Ehouzou, is a Beninese young professional (Benin-West Africa) and Associate Partner of Tringang Trading and Consulting Services founded in 2007, to contribute to business development in Africa. Its headquarter is based in Florida, USA and through partnerships it has representative offices in Africa, Asia, South America, Middle East and Europe. Tringang Trading and Consulting envisage becoming a major player in the trade industry. The company provides business development consultancy services to companies in securing new markets for their products and also provides technical expertise to African companies looking for investors. Mr. Ehouzou has a background in finance, business development and management. He has studied Business Administration with the Association of business Executives in London, UK. In 2005 he graduated from the Paris Graduate School of Management of the prestigious Ecole Superieur de Gestion in France, with an MBA in International Finance. Prior to embark on the journey with Tringang and Trading Consulting Services, Keneth has held managerial position where he has sharpen his managerial and business development skills in various projects in Europe and Africa. Mr. Ehouzou is committed and passionate about providing the best business and investment advises to its clients and partners. He has a solid network of business partners and has diverse regional working experience in Africa, Europe and North America and is a member of the Association Of Business Executives since 2003.
